U16 Alpine Team

Team Overview

The U16 team is comprised of a group of motivated athletes who compete in local and regional USSA at a level appropriate to their desire and ability. The program represents a time when athletes may achieve major development through regular conditioning, on-snow training, technical discussion, and video analysis. At the U16 level, the emphasis is on the technical and tactical aspects of all-mountain skiing and racing. Groups split their time between all-mountain skiing, technical drills, gate training, mental game skills, speed event skiing (Super-G, DH), and, as always, having fun! New participants to the club wishing to enter the Club at the U16 level must discuss and get approval from the Alpine U-16 team head coach, as a certain level of skiing experience is expected for this group.

Quality Coaching from Dedicated Staff

Our passionate staff brings years of experience to the U16 team, committed to aiding each athlete's growth. Every training day, athletes receive extensive feedback and support, bolstered by regular video analysis sessions that enhance their skills and understanding.

During races, our support ensures athletes feel fully prepared and confident. Families benefit from clear communication about events, travel plans, and detailed expectations for each training session. We prioritize educational yet enjoyable sessions, injecting variety to keep the training dynamic and engaging. Our goal is to keep the experience fresh and rewarding for all involved, using video analysis as a key tool for continuous improvement on the slopes.

Developing Skiers and People

At EMSC, we are dedicated to fostering holistic development, nurturing each athlete as a whole person, not just as a competitor. Ski racing demands a diverse skill set, and our program goes beyond technical prowess. Athletes learn essential life skills such as time management, personal responsibility for gear and equipment, perseverance, teamwork, and the importance of treating teammates and competitors with kindness and respect. They also gain valuable experience in receiving and effectively applying critical feedback.

By emphasizing these skills, we aim to cultivate not only exceptional ski racers but also well-rounded individuals. Our approach focuses on equipping athletes with qualities that extend far beyond the slopes, preparing them to succeed both in sport and in life.
